Being honest with yourself is the first step. It’s quite ok to feel, it’s also ok to share what you feel. It’s what you do that matters. If it’s something that scares the hell out of you, it may not be tragic in the end, you have to try to find out, right? It helps to write, to talk; it doesn’t help to keep things inside, and it doesn’t help to play scenes in your head, to play out how a conversation would go. Wouldn’t it be better to try to have that conversation with the real person, have the real responses, even if it is not what you wish to hear? Wouldn’t you prefer to hear a no, than imagine it?
